The end of July marked another big milestone for Henry, as his time being a part of Betty’s Bunch came to an end. Vish and I both feel like we have basically hit the jackpot with our childcare experience. Having both kids start off at Betty’s provided them both with the best start they needed in life. Betty’s love for the children under her care is obvious. Carter started at Kid Zone when he was 2.5 years old, and even though the transition was a little difficult, Kid Zone has also been an great place for Carter to continue to grow. All of the teachers are amazing, and the kid get to experience so many different, fun things.
We always knew that Henry would start going to Kid Zone sometime around 2 years old, but the time seemed to sneak up more quickly then I realized. Henry starting at Kid Zone is very bittersweet, because it is another reminder that he is growing up so fast. The last few weeks leading up to his departure at Betty’s have been another emotional roller coaster for me. I have enjoyed getting to know his friends and the other families at Betty’s house. He gets so excited when I drop him off there everyday. I am grateful that Betty opened her home to us. She helped us figure out parenting and worked with us as we worked through every new challenge that comes with having babies.
I know that the next few weeks with Henry heading to Kid Zone every day will probably harder on me that it is on him, and soon Henry will be running into his classroom to see his new pals and teachers. I am hopeful that we can still stay connected with Henry’s friends from Betty’s house as we have been able to do with Carter’s friends from there also.
We are a little a bit more than 1 week in, and already Henry seems to have adjusted to heading into Kid Zone. I haven’t dropped him off yet (I am not quite ready for it, so I make Vish do it every morning). However, yesterday there were no tears and Henry is already talking about teacher Chelsea at home. It appears that we have passed one more milestone for Henry. This transition was pretty hard on me, so I am not sure how Carter heading off to kindergarten will be…
